Our Annual Business Meeting (concluding our 100th year celebrations) featured a PowerPoint slide show of our past 25 years (see a few above). We hope you enjoyed seeing the images of past activities and events ...but even more enjoyable, remembering old friends!

Thanksgiving service to celebrate100 years of Bleasby WI
Prayers
In the peace and quiet of this building and in the presence of a loving God, we pray for all that builds up our shared lives and enriches our community.
We celebrate and give thanks for all that has been achieved over 100 years.
The welfare of women
The friendships made
The minds inspired
The arts, crafts, music, sport and drama promoted
The community strengthened
The challenges to government
The good causes supported
The contribution of those who have gone before whom we remember with love and respect.
We know that we are members of one another
And that we can never live to ourselves alone:
We give thanks for the community of which we are a part
For those who share with us in its activities.
For all our village organisations, our church,
our school and toddler group,
And for all those who serve on councils, committees or as volunteers
To maintain and develop village life
We remember those in our community
Who are strangers to us
Yet who have riches of friendship to share.
Beyond our immediate community we remember
Those we shall never know, but whose lives are linked to ours
Whose shared ground we stand on
And who breathe the same air.
May we recognize and respect differences celebrate the rich variety of human life
and people of every language and culture.
We give thanks for the beauty of the created world around us,
The variety of living things
The changing seasons
And the pleasure our gardens provide.
We remember that we are but stewards with a duty to protect and preserve the natural world and its resources
for future generations and the well-being of humankind.
We call to mind those whose lives are blighted by suffering;
those in poor health or beset by anxiety
those who have lost their independence
the lonely, and those who miss their families
the vulnerable, the powerless, the despairing,
and those traumatised by war, conflict and natural disasters.
We know that we live in an imperfect world.
May we do all we can to challenge what we know to be wrong,
To reject casual indifference, loose talk, harsh judgements,
self-interest and all that demeans us and hurts others;
To speak up for truth, justice and freedom,
the flourishing of relationships, access to education,
an equal sharing of all the world has to offer and all that makes for peace.
Grant us a vision for the future ,
To see what we can achieve
To reach beyond ourselves
And to love and serve one another.
Merciful Father, accept these prayers, our good intentions and hopes for the future, Amen
