About Us
History Of Bleasby WI
The first meeting of Bleasby WI was held on 19 October 1922 in the nursery or playroom of Bleasby Hall, then the home of the Kelham family. The format of the meeting then would have been very similar to today starting with information on trips and events both in Bleasby and the county, a speaker followed by social time and a lot of chatter. From the early days the WI provided an environment where women, whose life then was very different and hard for many, could have fun and form friendships; it provided an outlet where, with a network of friends, they could learn something new. These same values attract our members today.
Bleasby WI remains a well respected and vital part of village life, where you will be made very welcome at our regular monthly meetings which are held on the third Tuesday of each month in the Village Hall (with the exception of December which is usually held on the second Tuesday) at 7.30 pm. We are an active and fun loving WI - it would be great if you could join us!

County representation
Bleasby WI is represented at County level by its Vice-Chairman, Wendy, and by Monica, Lorraine and Hazel who serve with Wendy on the Sports & Leisure Sub-committee. We partake in lots of the County events and activities so you can always ask for first-hand advice from them as well as many of our members!!
